We are Game Designers

October 30, 2017

We are just beginning to explore different ways that we can use coding. We are going to use Scratch to make up and program our own times tables games.

Have a look at some of these to see what you think of some existing ones.

Leave a comment to let me know which ones you thought were good or how you thought some of them could be improved.

I agree, it doesn’t do what we expected a times tables game to do.

I liked the 9 time tables game but it did not just have 9 times tables
and it had music but it could tell you your score.

Without times tables it becomes simply a game, doesn’t it? A times tables game MUST have times tables.

Times Table you have to click a button to continue!.

    •    Mr. Sumner  |  October 30th, 2017 at 3:21 pm     Reply

Do you need to click it often or is it just at the start?

That’s a shame. Would there be any way to adapt it to include them?

I thought you said there were no times tables in this game. Does it have them?

  •    abi and scarly  |  October 30th, 2017 at 3:16 pm     Reply

I liked times table quiz, it had a timer, it kept your score and showed you the highest score ,made on the game. It could have a few harder questions though.

There was a big blue one that did nothing except turn into a flower. The thing that was good about it on the cat and mice game was that it gave you your high score

    •    Mr. Sumner  |  October 30th, 2017 at 3:20 pm     Reply

A high score sounds pretty good. It would give you a target to beat.

The first times tables was a it boring because it didn’t have much animation but the times tables were good. The cat and mouse game was really fun and we got quite competitive with it.
